Today in l.a. we got our notebooks from the westing game collected by our teacher Mrs. E. We were reading the westing game for three weeks and we finished todat 6/7/07. Since we all read and finished the book we got to watch the Westing game movie called Get A Clue. We watched it for about 30 minutes and there is still one hour left in the movie. We saw the caracters Turtle, Grace, Sydelle, Jake,Angela, mr. plum, Barrny N., Otis, James Shin Hoo, Doug Hoo, Chris, and Mr. Sam Westimg. It started out on halloween, when turtle explained how her family and the other heirs had to move to an apartment next to the westing house in sunset towers. After that Turtle, Otis, and doug went to the Westing house that had been abandon since Westing got in a car crash years ago. She found him in the house and when she saw him he was dead and he fell on the ground almost squishing her. Turtle went in the house bacause Otis and Doug thought she couldn’t last two minutes in the haunted house and for every minute in the house she would get a dollar. She lasted 9 minutes so she got 9 dollars.

Today in l.a. we reviewed persuasive writing and what you should do in our stories to persuade our readers. We also underlined important points on a worksheet of ways to persuade anyone that reads our papers. I learned a couple facts in this sheet like there also has to be a introduction that still introduces the paper but tells what you are trying to persuade. Did you know there are also still body paragraphs, and a conclusion in this type of writing ? Well it is true! Yup, there really are middle and end paragraphs, just like there are in other types of writing like expository. There were also bulleted points that said to give many details of why you want this reader to go along with your idea or belief/opinion. I mainly learned in this class of learning about persuasive writing, was that tell the reader exactly what you want them to go along with, state your details why, and stick with you reasons with topic.

Chief J. made a long speech about how important it was to him that they stay and how he wasn’t going to fight Nez and his people to get the land.He also said how many people from his tribe ( which he is the leader of ) are all dead and how he surrendered to fighting.

Friends by Jill Wolf
The best of friends,
Can change a frown,
Into a smile,
when you feel down.
The best of friends,
Will understand,
Your little trials,
And lend a hand.
The best of friends,
Will always share,
Your secret dreams,
Because they care.
The best of friends,
Worth more than gold,
Give all the love,
A heart can hold.
